ALL INDIA PHILOSOPHICAL PRACTITIONERS’ ASSOCIATION
(AIPPA)

A network of philosophical practitioners working in India

Philosophical Practice is a relatively new thing for India. The biggest challenge before philosophical practitioners is to introduce and establish their profession. Philosophical Practitioners have to put hard effort to respond basic queries about their profession. Philosophical Practitioners claim that philosophy is relevant to everyday life and to the person in the street. It is a big claim which needs to be proved demonstratively in practice. They have to prove relevance of philosophy as well as relevance of their profession that is called philosophical practice. AIPPA is an effort to address these issues whom any philosophical practitioner working in India faces in his daily routine work.

Our Inspirations

  1. National Philosophical Counseling Association (NPCA), which was co-founded in 1992 by three American philosophers, Elliot D. Cohen, Paul Sharkey, and Thomas Magnell.
  2. American Philosophical Practitioners Association (APPA), which was founded in 1998 in New York City by Lou Marinoff.

Aims and Objectives

  1. To provide an open democratic platform where philosophical practitioners from throughout country can share and discuss their experiences as well as insights
  2. To facilitate communication between philosophical practitioners as well as their organizations
  3. To make an information pool where practitioners will get information of recent developments in profession as well as works of their fellow practitioners.
  4. To facilitate cross section dialogue among practitioners working with different methods in different traditions
  5. To promote all existing as well as new emerging frameworks of philosophical practice
  6. To promote research and innovation in philosophical practice
  7. To promote use of latest scientific development in philosophical practice and develop scientific temperament in practitioners
  8. To protect professional interest and standardize profession in India
